April 2013 EMDC Conference

Four members of CMU organization attended EMDC 2013 (Eurasia Media and Distribution Consultation) in Chang Mai, Thailand last April 8-11 2013.  One of the main goals of this annual meeting is to provide a meeting place where those engaged in minority language work can interact with communication and media specialists to develop media strategies and explore the use of ethno-arts and storying.

Here are some of the insights of those who attended EMDC:

“I thank the Lord for the opportunity to attend EMDC. It was a very good experience for me to meet other missionaries and workers of the Lord from different countries and hear them share what God is doing in their ministries especially those involved in media and orality. This event has also renewed my spirit to continue serving the Lord as a language worker.”

“I used to think that media can only be used by big ministries but with the technology available today, it is now possible for even our group (CMU) to spread the message even further than ever before. Not only can it be used for evangelization but can become a wonderful tool in the hands of local churches. How God could use a simple video or audio clip, a text, a song, a picture, a story to change the course of a life that could impact thousands of others.”
